It's great being to have some one whom I dont have to explain myself. It fells so good to know that you really do accept and like me and love me for what I am...

Just being with you doing nothing makes me happy..This kind of happiness happens only once of a life time and i dont know that I could never love another as much as I LOVE YOU...

Psalm 20 is a fantastic psalm and is our prayer for you.

"May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble! May the Name of the God of Jacob set you up on high [and defend you]; Send you help from the sanctuary and support, refresh, and strengthen you from Zion; Remember all your offerings and accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah [pause, and think of that]! May He grant you according to your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans. We will [shout in] triumph at your salvation and victory, and in the Name of our God we will set up our banners. May the Lord fulfill all your petitions. Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. Some trust in and boast of chariots and some of horses, but we will trust in and boast of the Name of the Lord our God. They are bowed down and fallen, but we are risen and stand upright." (Psalm 20:1-8, AMP)

Already the year is flying by... what is with that? As a church, we have (yet again by His Grace) started strong. God has been faithful in helping us record another great album, Colour Conference was outstanding, Easter amazing, not to mention the breadth of everyday church life. But at the heart of all we do is your individual heart. Our constant prayer is that your heart will 'travel well' throughout this year, because out of the health or ill-health of the heart, our lives unfold.

We encourage you to understand the power of connection, to stay close to your Saviour and together, we will all see this year unfold beautifully. God is so good, yet there is so much to do in this great city and nation. Our desire is that calvary church will be amongst those on the earth who understand God's plan for humanity.

We love you, and completely believe in you.

Intimacy with god

04.04.05 (9:18 pm)   [edit]
Finding God rhythms in my work, relationships and life is a constant pursuit for me. How do the many roles I am called to participate in flow seamlessly and with energy..meeting the constant demands of people, work goals and achievement as well as valuing family and close friendships- not to mention the need for solitude. Learning how to prize wholeness.

In the gospel of John and in chapter 15, Jesus says: "I am the true vine and my father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch in me that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful." (NIV) And then he goes on to say this: "I am the vine, you are the branches. When you're joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can't produce a thing." (Msg)

The issue then in light of Jesus' teaching would become not so much about my busy-ness or my settling back, not even about my doing and how hard I would be serving the Lord and counting the cost. Perhaps though, the answer to my question then rests in the level of intimacy of my relationship with Christ Jesus.

In John 15, we see demonstrated this result of intimacy and abiding (remaining) in Christ- fruitfulness in the Christian life. Fruitfulness in a vineyard is not simply desirable, it is imperative. It is the Christ-like character in our lives, it is the winning of others to follow Christ, and it includes everything that results from this essential union with Christ.

Rudolf Bultmann in his study titled 'The Gospel of John' speaks of fruitfulness as "every demonstration of vitality of faith, to which... reciprocal love above all things belongs."

Jesus intended for the disciples to live such lives that Christ would continue to abide in them (v4), this being the necessary pre-requisite to fruitfulness in the Christian life. Note here the emphasis on fruitfulness that is dependent upon Christ as opposed to human achievement. It is the two "abidings" of Christ in us and us abiding also in Him (v4) that can not be separated and that will lead to fruitfulness in our lives.

Intimacy and fruitfulness - nothing to be said here in John 15 about busy-ness. It's choosing to be like Mary when so often our tendency is to be like Martha.

In considering these thoughts, let me pose the question: What do you need/what do I need to ensure that our relation with Jesus Christ is intimate and organic? What will it take for you to truly care over this relationship? For each of us there will be a different answer - the important thing is intimacy in our relationship with the Father.

Does it take more time than we have been giving? Will it take stopping a task, or slowing down a notch or two to take time to consider God in all of our doings?
What will it take for me to live a life of intimacy with Christ?

Abiding can only come through prayer and obedience to the Word of God. Out of that place of intimacy where we remain in Christ, our lives will bear much fruit and fruit that is of the highest quality. Indeed, out of intimacy, we can not but help to live lives that produce much fruit for the sake of the Father's glory!

do you want to see jesus lifted high?

Acts Chapter 10 presents a question - "But how are people to call upon Him whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher? And how can men preach unless they are sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring glad tidings! How welcome is the coming of those who preach the good news of His good things!" (Rom 10:14-15, AMP, paraphrased).

Last year was an amazing year, and we are completely aware of His endless favour and kindness towards us as a church... but blessing also carries with it responsibility. More than ever we have a community, city and nation watching how we carry ourselves as believers and how we present the good news of our faith.

I believe our nation is poised for spiritual awakening. So, may I encourage you to really approach this year with heightened faith. Let's fall in love with Jesus more than ever. Let's push personal boundaries more than ever. Let's (once and for all) lose the baggage that so easily hinders. Let's look heavenward and listen for the God whispers.

Let's dream larger than ever before. Let's spend more time in His Word. Let's seek His face, and let's approach every day given this year with a sense of heaven-sent assignment.

We love you! Be blessed! Be amazing for Jesus! And let's prove to anyone watching that God is definitely alive, well and working His magnificent plan on the earth!
